“To be haunted by a ghost is to be haunted by the past”

“To be haunted by a ghost is to be haunted by the past”

Welcome To Adelaide Ghost Company.

South Australia is renowned for its wines and many churches, but a long history is reflected in all the hauntings that are reported around the capital, Adelaide, alone.

Founded in 1836, Adelaide has the oldest record of an official city council in Australia (1840). It was originally planned to be the first settlement in the entire country that was not convict-based, full of free people who chose to immigrate to Australia, promising civil liberties and freedom from religious persecution.

Adelaide, a city known for its peaceful reputation, may have its own share of dark and mysterious stories lurking beneath the surface. It all comes down to how much you're willing to believe in the myths, legends and paranormal activity that may be woven into the fabric of this seemingly serene place.

Adelaide Ghost Company is proud to present our own little representations of souls of the past in ornamental form.

Each Adelaide Ghost is handmade in our own studio in Adelaide, South Australia. Please visit our

Each ghost is unique, remember.. "To be haunted by a ghost is to be haunted by the past".

Welcome To Phantom Ghost Locs.

In many spiritual and indigenous traditions worldwide including the rich cultural heritage of the Australian Indigenous peoples hair, particularly coiled or matted hair (often referred to as dreadlocks), carries deep spiritual, ceremonial, and ancestral significance. Hair is viewed not merely as a physical trait, but as a living extension of memory, a antenna for spiritual energy, and a physical manifestation of one's connection to Country and line of descent.

In the lore of ghost hunting and paranormal encounters around Adelaide, phantom sightings frequently feature shadowy, spectral figures adorned with flowing, tangled, or dreadlocked forms sometimes referred to as "phantom ghost dreads." When viewed through a cultural lens, these manifestations take on a profound meaning:

• Living Threads of the Past: Just as dreadlocks weave individual strands into an unbreakable lock, the stories of Adelaide weave European colonial history with Kaurna and regional Aboriginal heritage. Phantom "dreads" can be seen as visual metaphors for the tangled, unbroken threads of history that linger in the physical landscape.

• Ancestral Sentinels: In Aboriginal culture, the spiritual essence of ancestors remains woven into the land long after their physical presence fades. Spectral hair trailing through dark halls or old coastal passages serves as a reminder of guardians and spirits bound to the sacred ground upon which modern Adelaide stands.

• Unseen Connection: The physical locks represent a knotting together of time—past, present, and the spiritual domain suggesting that the memories of those who walked these lands before cannot be easily combed out or forgotten.

All Phantom Ghost Locs creations or aftercare are weaved with purpose and intention, either in the farm studio or within your own home.

“To wear Phantom Ghost Locs is to bear the tangled memories of the past”.
